Joanna has over 25 years’ experience in business development, strategic planning, valuation and financial modeling, and revenue and profit maximization. She has a proven track record for combining analytics and strategic insights to drive growth through both large and small scale new business ventures. Her experience has spanned the travel and entertainment industry, including theme parks, water parks, hotels, timeshare and fractional ownership resorts, and retail, dining and entertainment projects.
Joanna spent 15 years at the Walt Disney Company in key leadership positions across business development, strategic planning, and finance. She led feasibility analysis and valuation for major new business projects across most of Walt Disney World’s lines of business, as well as for Disney’s effort to launch a chain of regional resorts across the US. Her responsibilities included evaluating the potential market, assessing the competitive landscape, forecasting potential demand, and building pro forma models. She also spearheaded long term strategy development for the company’s Information Technology and Entertainment departments. Her most recent responsibilities included supporting Disney’s theme park project in Shanghai through its deal signing. Prior to joining Disney, Joanna worked as a consultant in the travel and energy industries.
Following her tenure at Disney, Joanna was a Director at Integrated Insight, providing data-driven strategic recommendations to companies in the travel and entertainment industry. She led in-depth client reviews, evaluating and recommending changes to pricing, promotions, distribution, and branding to drive increased profits. She also developed predictive models to identify companies’ most valuable customers and estimate their future value based on past purchase behavior, demographics, and customer satisfaction survey results.
Joanna holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business, and a BA in Economics from Bucknell University.
